Plumbing Finished

I built a couple of triangular walls on each side of the front edge of the loft.

Today I managed to finish up the water supply plumbing.  PEX is so easy to work with.  I remember the first house I built back in '82 and we used copper.  It was miserable.

After that was done I managed to install almost all of the light fixture boxes in preparation for running my electric wires.

Water Supply Plumbing - day 1

I started running the water supply.  First step was to connect from the poly-pipe coming into the crawl space to a shut-off valve and then to PEX up into the house.  It require that I shut off the water at the road while I modified the pipes in the crawl-space.

Once up into the house I ran the cold water lines to the shower, the washer and over to the toilet area.

Taping seams

It was dry and almost no wind today so I got up on the roof again.  I managed to get most of the taping done.  I couldn't reach the top seams and the edges so I need to wait until I borrow another ladder from my son.

I also got the east wall taped.

Now, other than the top and edges of the roof, all I have left to tape are the door and window openings.

Drain Plumbing

The weather has been kind of rainy & windy and I'm not thrilled working on the roof in those conditions.  So, I refocused to work on my drain plumbing.  I installed drains for both the kitchen & bathroom sink, a toilet flange, a washing machine center and the shower drain.  One 2" vent is run up into the loft and I'll later run it through the roof.  The rest goes down into the crawl space and out through the wall to the septic tank.  I'm pretty sure that at least half of my time doing this was spent running back and forth to Lowe's & Home Depot to get the right fittings.

The only two joints that I didn't glue up are the toilet flange (because I want to install the bathroom floor before permanent installation of the flange) and the shower drain (because I need to remove the shower base and put it back in place with adhesive on the floor).
